The Jalapenos in this slaw give it an amazing depth and a nice little kick that just levels up boring old cole slaw so much that people keep coming back for more. We love it spicy at the Powerful Pepper Company so make sure you check out our other recipes while you are on the site and some of our amazing spicy products!
Ingredients
-
1 small Cabbage (About 6-8 cups) Shredded
-
4-5 Jalapenos, seeds removed, sliced thin legnthwise
-
½ Large Onion about a cup and a half sliced thin
Dressing
-
1 cup Mayo
-
¼ cup Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar
-
1 tbsp Dijon
-
2 tbsp. Jalapeno Candy Juice (optional)
-
1 tbsp Whole Mustard Seeds (brown or yellow)
-
1 tbsp Salt
-
2 tsp fresh cracked black pepper
Directions
Chop Cabbage, Thinly slice onions and jalapenos. You want everything to be similar in shape so that the salad is consistent in texture.
Make the dressing in a separate bowl and mix it into the cabbage. I like to use a pair of gloves for this as you can get everything mixed together quickly and thoroughly.
Let this rest for at least an hour in the fridge before serving. You can make it up to a day ahead. This allows those whole mustard seeds to hydrate and develop into awesome little pops of flavor while you are eating the slaw.
Recipe Note
Feel free to add some color with some shredded carrot if that is your thing. Avoid red cabbage unless you want the entire thing to turn pink. And who knows, maybe you do!
